This programme outlines six key safety principles for performing safe lifting operations onboard ships. It details mandatory procedures, including pre-lift planning and toolbox talks , inspecting all certified equipment for defects , establishing exclusion zones , and strictly forbidding anyone from walking under suspended loads. The goal is to prevent accidents and ensure all crew follow established procedures.
This program explains Type 2 Diabetes and how insulin regulates blood sugar. It warns that high blood sugar damages blood vessels and nerves, increasing the risk of heart attack or stroke. The program stresses risk reduction through lifestyle changes like a healthy diet, regular exercise, and staying hydrated. Seafarers are advised to recognise symptoms and adhere to prescribed medication.
This program on Hypertension (High Blood Pressure), the "silent killer," warns that it stiffens arteries, risking heart attack and stroke. It urges seafarers to control lifestyle risk factors—such as salt intake, smoking, weight, exercise, and stress—and consistently take prescribed medication to protect their health and career.
